First, I’ll just say that your article here is the best I’ve read on the gun issue. Well done. You deserve credit from both sides of the debate here.
Now, let me comment on the portion I highlighted here. It’s typical to focus an affirmative position on gun ownership against tyranny by government. However, I don’t think that’s the real threat of the future. Government is very rapidly devolving into an appendage of corporate interest. The real threat to liberty is the capitalist corporation-monarchy. Anyone who perceives the government as governing business nowadays is either blind or dumb. The capitalist corporate machine, by definition, must grow infinitely. It is literally and mathematically and logically impossible that any government could hope to maintain power over this beast. We should be concerned not about tyranny by government, but tyranny by business behemoths and monetary interests.
