How I Produced a 1,400-Page Medical Textbook and Distributed 100k Copies Without a College Degree
Not being afraid of taking risks was crucial to my success
I’m the Chief Editor of a medical textbook and I don’t have a college degree.
For proof, here’s a link to the 5th edition of the book on Amazon. It went into print in 2013, and roughly 100k copies have since been distributed.
I hope to get the 6th edition out later this year; that one will probably be closer to 1,700 pages.
Getting to this point involved taking several risks.
Now or Never
I graduated from a small Ohio high school in 2006. I’d earned below-average grades throughout my time there.
The day after graduation, I crammed whatever I could into the Toyota Celica I had at the time and drove to South Florida.
I had no specific plan, but I knew that if I didn’t take the leap to make a change in my life then, I probably never would.
After finding a room to rent on Craigslist, I started looking for a job right away. I had about $3,500 to my name at the time.
I landed a gig working for The Vitamin Shoppe, a dietary supplement retailer.
